How do I know if I need a new roof?
Like all areas of the house, the roof needs to be monitored. Throughout the seasons, severe weathering can deteriorate the life expectancy of any asphalt shingled roofs. Each season will bring its own problems to the shingles. But after careful inspection of the weathering, you will be able to diagnose potential problems and have them remedied. Here are some things to look out for when determining the need for a new roof.- Your roof is between twenty and twenty five years old.
- Most roofs have already lived out there life expectancy if the house was built during the 1980's
- Shingles show obvious signs of excessive cracking, curling, or they are blistering.
- Older roofs that have withstood the annual weather will show more obvious signs of aging.
- There are shingles that are missing, torn, damaged
- High winds will cause shingles to lift up and sometimes tear off.
- The roof is leaking in many places.
- This will be obvious in the interior space of your home.
